Throwback Thursday: The Admirable Women of the 20s

For this throwback we are time travelling to about 90 years ago to a time known as the Roaring Twenties where women showed that enough was enough and it was time to rebel.
I honestly admire the women of this time, they truly didn't care what the men or society thought, they just wanted to have fun and not be confined to strict rules. Skirts were shortened and legs were revealed. Hair was chopped off to have a fun tomboyish bob look and the dances came alive. And a figure? And what happened to that corset that women had to wear? It was simply abandoned and a more flattened straighter look arose.

Now that World War I was over, Women Rights movements had risen and art heavily influenced the fashion that defined the 20s. The fashion showed that women felt free. In addition to the more liberated fashion swimsuits were now much more revealing than in the past.

One thing that must be highlighted were the hats, very popular beginning in 1923 the cloche hat was in high demand. Women wanted to draw away from the large brimmed hats associated with pre-war times and wear a more fitted hat. Personally I love these hats and they can still be found today such as in shows like Gossip Girl. A possible version of fitted hats would have to be the turbans that are so very in right now. Honestly if you can rock a turban do it because they are just so darn cool!

RATING:★★★★★
Full stars to these heroes! They truly liberated women and fought for many rights during the 20s. It was a time of fun, freedom and art; which is truly expressed and the trends that were in that era. Since fashion cycles I'm sure we will be seeing a version of the twenties very soon in the future.

And Remember...
Make Fashion Fun!
