Something very strange happened in the 1950s...for some reason women were back in the house; cleaning, cooking and waiting for the husbands return. After years of finally declaring they had rights too it was as if time went backwards during the 50s. This doesn't mean fashion stopped though.
If you were one of those girls who were a bit thicker and had that hourglass figure well then the 50s was your time to shine. It was all about celebrating female curves and it was a rather sexy era. But this decade was unlike the last few because women were now expected to live life as a housewife.
However I do love that the women in this era despite being locked in their houses all day.... really knew how to look fierce. They looked powerful, sexy and were not generally twigs. If they hadn't returned to this old life style I think women could have dominated!
Despite this weird transition 50s women really knew how to....
